228,000 Toyota Trucks Recalled Over Concerns About Loss of Control

Your BBB® has learned that Toyota is recalling 228,000 trucks due to a potential leak that can cause drivers to lose control of their vehicles.

The affected model is the 2016 and 2017 Toyota Tacoma. The automaker states that operating a vehicle with such a leak can cause damages, noise and reduced propulsion. In time, this issue can lead to more severe problems, such as loss of control of the vehicle and an increased crash risk.

Toyota states that all owners will be notified in June and authorized dealers will check each trusk’s rear differential for potential leaks. The company will also support the cost for replacing the entire assembly if the rear differential is damaged. If you own one of these vehicles, contact an authorized dealer and schedule a visit.
