BBB Wise Giving Alliance Shares IRS Dirty Dozen List

Some consumers may not realize that your BBB® has a Charity Review program as part of the BBB Wise Giving Alliance. The BBB Wise Giving Alliance helps donors make informed giving decisions and promotes high standards of conduct among organizations that solicit contributions from the public. Reports are developed by evaluating charities against 20 comprehensive Standards for Charity Accountability without charge to the charity and are posted for free public access on give.org. The Alliance publishes a magazine, the Wise Giving Guide, three times a year.
This week, H. Art Taylor, President & CEO of the BBB Wise Giving Alliance passed along information from the IRS on its annual Dirty Dozen list of tax scams. Fake Charities was number five on the list.
