They kept promising that a settlement was going to be made soon by Congress and asked if my husband would prefer a lump sum of $5000 or to have it spread out over time. I filled out MANY of these forms and returned them, WITHOUT the optional donation requested. Then suddenly their request forms stopped coming. I didn't know if it was because the legislation had been passed and we hadn't been informed about it. I recently sent emails to my state (NM) Senate and House representatives asking about it, but they NEVER replied. Now it's sounding like it was a money-making scam to drain even more money away from seniors. That is what our country has become, scams for some individuals to get/steal money from others (sometimes the 99%). And it's all legal? Nothing to protect the population from those who have money to get around any obstacles in the system. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Great country, eh? Hello,
