This weekend I was looking over some of the stories that got some play on the internet, and I came across this one. Evidently there is a malicious malware that has infected millions of computers, and it appears to be worldwide in scope. The malware is called DNSChanger Trojan, and it has infected over half a million computers in the US with many of them being government agencies and Fortune 500 Companies.
According to information provided by the FBI, non-infected servers were setup so these infected servers could “debug” themselves. On March 8, the servers that were setup by the FBI may be taken down, and if those entities haven’t taken care of removing the DNSChanger Trojan malware, they may be without internet access.
We at the BBB want to make sure everyone makes sure your computers are virus free and to take action to protect yourselves from becoming a victim of fraud. Make sure your anti-virus software is up to date, and use malware detecting software as well to insure you’re computer and servers are safe.
