Your BBB® often receives messages regarding possible scams, and sometimes these take the form of an urgent message of a possible virus or other kind of malware.
The latest message we received concerns a potential link called the “Dance Of The Hillary.” By clicking on the link, the message alleges, you will download malware that could wipe your mobile device clean, formatted.
The message we received states, “Please inform all contacts from your list not to open a video called the “Dance of the Hillary.” It is a virus that formats your mobile. Beware it is very dangerous. They announced it today on BBC radio. Fwd this msg to as many as you can!”
In doing a check regarding this potentially dangerous virus, we were unable to find any credible sources, therefore, numerous sites are calling this e-rumor a hoax.
It’s always a good idea to check various sources to verify the veracity of any report of impending danger as sometimes, such reports may have a financial component to it in order to get you to spend your money on products or services to keep you safe. Be circumspect and check out the story with as many sources as possible before making any purchasing decisions, and always use your BBB to check out offers and companies before you buy.
