Happy Thanksgiving from Your BBB

Your Better Business Bureau (BBB) would like to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. While our offices will be closed in observance of the holiday, you can always check out a business, read consumer tips or file a complaint at our website www.evansville.bbb.org. You may also use our Interactive Voice Response Service, IVR, by pressing #2 from your touch tone keypad for information on businesses and charities throughout North America. All you need is the ten digit phone number.

If you are traveling this Thanksgiving here are some tips to keep in mind.

If you are driving:

-Check ahead for road construction, detours or bad weather that may delay your arrival time. Many government or media websites provide road and weather information.

-Check for the best gas prices along the way. There are numerous websites along with smartphone apps for getting the best gas prices. It doesn’t hurt to check more than one resource.

-Have an emergency kit and plan in case you get stranded on the side of the road and know what roadside assistance you may have through insurance or auto club membership. If free towing is offered make sure you know how far the free towing covers.

If you are flying:

-Make sure you arrive extra early as Thanksgiving is always one of the busiest travel days.

-If you are trying to book a last-minute deal make sure you read the fine print and know all the restrictions that may apply. Make sure you also read any cancellation and refund policies that apply. Also check on baggage fees and what affect that will have on the final cost.

-Be familiar with airline policies regarding weather delays and check the weather at your destination to anticipate possible delays.

Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving and for more information you can trust, visit your BBB at Evansville.bbb.org.
