Your BBB® has learned that the FTC will start mailing more than $1.9 million in refunds to customers who purchased Pure Health and Genesis Today supplements from stores throughout the country.
To be exact, 38,500 people will get a full refund this year. This comes as a result of the 2015 case FTC opened against Pure Health LLC, Genesis Today, Inc., and their management who claimed that their supplements can help people lose around 16% of their body fat in just 3 months and with no exercise.
The settlement bans the defendants from claiming weight loss can be achieved through their supplements and requires them to refund each customer that files a complaint with the FTC. 200,000 people have already received a check from the FTC in 2016. If you get a check, you have 60 days to cash it. For questions and more information, you can contact the FTC.
Also, please keep in mind that if someone approaches you about a refund and asks for your personal information or a fee, they are not working with the FTC. This is a scam. You can read this article on evaluating weight loss claims before buying a weight loss supplement.
