Your BBB® follows the latest news from the Social Security Administration (SSA), and in a May 12, 2017, Press Release the SSA revealed the names. Visit https://www.ssa.gov/oact/babynames/ to find out the popularity of a baby name over the past 100 years and the most popular names by state.

You can also take a fun “What’s Your Perfect Baby Name?” quiz to help future parents come up with baby names. In addition to keeping track of baby names, the SSA provides information for parents on important topics such as “Social Security Numbers for Children” and “Benefits for Children with Disabilities” in the Kids and Families section.

Another interesting way to look at the data is to see how far a particular name jumps in popularity in the Top 1,000. For girls in 2016, the name Kehlani jumped 2,487 spots from number 3,359 to number 872. For boys in 2016, the name Kylo rose 2,368 spots from number 3,269 to number 901. The second fastest riser for girls was the name Royalty and for boys the name Creed.
