The Attorney General for Indiana issued a press release on Tuesday announcing that his office is mailing over 37,000 letters to Indiana residences who lost their homes to foreclosure and are eligible for part of the National Mortgage Settlement. This settlement of up to $25 billion nation-wide occurred between five major banks and 49 state attorney generals (every state except Oklahoma).
Indiana will be receiving over $31 million and the AG’s office estimates around $840 per eligible home owner depending on how many sign up. You can view the AG press release here. If you believe that you are eligible and do not receive a letter, you can contact 1-866-430-8358.
