Your BBB® spotted this quote on Facebook: “I decided to take an aerobics class. I bent… twisted… gyrated… jumped up and down… and perspired for a half an hour. But by the time I got my tights on…. the class was over!”  If you, too, have made a New Year’s resolution to join a gym and get fit, then we have some information for you.

In 2016, BBB received 421,899 inquiries about Health clubs, fitness centers, gymnasiums, and exercise and physical fitness programs, so we know that many people want to live a healthier lifestyle. So, what factors should people consider?

First of all, most states have laws or rules governing health and fitness clubs. Before you sign a contract, it would be good to know those laws. In our 18-county service area, those laws may be found at: in Indiana, in Illinois,  in Kentucky (scroll down to Title XXIX)
